BUSITEL and our partner ITW Shinemark are committed to conducting our thermal transfer ribbon manufacturing activities with the objective of continuously improving our environmental impact. We have carried out numerous actions in this direction in recent years.
Better production waste management
BUSITEL has succeeded in reducing the impact of its production site thanks to better management of our production waste. Thus, since the beginning of 2023:
- No production waste is sent to landfill.
- 95% of our production waste is recycled, transformed or reused.
- Our thermal transfer film waste is transformed into Solid Recovered Fuels (SRC), a quality alternative to fossil fuels used in energy-intensive sectors.
More sustainable packaging and shipping
- 100% of the cardboard cores used in the composition of our thermal transfer ribbons come from sustainably managed forests.
- 100% of our packaging boxes are FSC certified
- Our boxes are made from 65% to 75% recycled cardboard.
- Our packaging films are made from 100% recyclable material.
- We have replaced PP adhesives with paper adhesives for closing our boxes
- 90% of our shipments (by number) are CO2 offset
Reduction of the amount of plastic in Thermal Transfer ribbons
Busitel is introducing more and more new generation thermal transfer ribbons manufactured on a 4µ thick PET instead of 4.6µ.
These new generations of ribbons save 12% of the plastic used in each thermal transfer ribbon.
